Just one hour to go here in France, and positions ares tatic. Top 5 teams are cruising to the finish now saving the karts avoiding the kerbs and not taking any risks. However Rob in the GKD kart is flat out but is never going to make up that time of 5 laps. Sin have rejoined the race and set fastest lap, just need to do that for 24 hours lads

With almost 21 hours gone things have settled well here at Le Mans. Ms Lucas leading with a good gap and now taking care to avoid the kerbs as are Ms Soco in second. Racing for Holland have moved up to third with Alpha having another stub axle problem. McDonald looking good in clubman with fine drives throughout the team. GKD Balmforth have recovered well to 6th overall after their chassis problems. Also Meerkart 1 going really well in the race hire team. With three hours to go now most teams making sure they will get to the finish. One more update just before the end.

again sorry for lack of posts but am sure you all watching live timing by now.
i’ve just cooked for 20 people so been a bit busy. We’ve had a couple of big incidents here. Mike thoms was unlucky and bent he GLD kart with a coming together with a hire kart, H was on the case and jumped on it to put it straigh so they are still running. About an hour ago we had a big smash on the run down to the hairpin. Sadly the triple 7 kart was destroyed when a hire clipped them and another hire hit them at full pelt. They have been given a hire kart so are back in the race. It was chaos after it happened with at least5 karts in the incident. Also team dazzle went straight on coming out of pits and bent the column and both track rods. Baron lost another engine which has dropped them bacl. For MS fans though MS lucas looking good upfront and soco have really come back into it with a fantastic stint from Howard. Well done to the McDonald team, all four drivers lapping within a tenth of each and nicely leading clubman class now. Lights are on and its dark now and team 77 just been called to race control appears someone has lost their ballast. One more post later before i go to bed,

At the six hour point alpha are leading and managing to eek out 2hours on a tank of fuel. They are due in any moment though for their next stop so MS Lucas will retake the lead. Wilko is out in the MS Lucas Kart, and john is back in the SOCO kart after a great run from Dan Parker. Another good drive by Tom McDonald has pushed McDonalds into 7th overall and leading clubman wiht Mick out on his stint. Baron have had to swap an engine which has set them back a bit. Black flea are running well on their first trip to Le Mans with Stu Hoyle and Phil McVay providing two experienced drivers for them.

Well i’ve spent the first hour or so of the race setting everyone up to the wireless network only for it to fail again. Everyone is having to use their laptops or phones to get live timing as the system is not working in the pit garages but its gone down again so am back off to try and fix it again, i tried to fix the main system for them this morning but its all in french. I am not going to list the positions as you can see them on the link i posted before. However will still update with what happens. At the start Steven Welsh in the Ms Lucas kart, Jeremy Gumleigh in Baron, Jon Munday in alpha and racing for holland opened a small gap to the rest of the field. On lap 5 Baron sneaked into the lead only for MS Lucas to take it straight back. Baron had another go a lap later and dropped to 4th as alpha and racing for holland steamed through. Alpha followed MS Lucas for a while and then Steven got in his stride and started to build a lead that was around 30 seconds on the first driver change, well done. Meanwhile John in the MS Soco kart had a fine drive up into 2nd from 6th on grid. After about 30 mins Bob was not happy with karts running the kerb at the end of the straight so a tyre wall has been built accross them and any kart putting more than one wheel on the kerb will receive a 1 lap penalty harsh, but its the same for everyone. Progem made an early stop i think becuase an exhaust shroud has come loose. Team 777 were another casualty and have lost a number of laps with an engine change. GKD-Balmforth had a good stint with john Littlechild behind the wheel leading clubmans and McDonald with Dave shaw in the kart was his usual ultra reliable self running second in clubman. With everyone having stopped for fuel now the race has settled down, no rain yet and much cooler than it has been all week. Dan
nb – Steven white in MS Lucas

race day
good morning everyone, if there is anyone reading this. As i am typing this qualifying for the owner drivers
is about to begin. Steven Welsh was looking mighty in the ms lucas kart yesterday
with whitey and Jamie stubbs close behind him. The MS soco kart is right on the pace too so will be some
inter team rivalry. The McDonald kart is looking strong for clubman and the GKD-Balmforth
has been sorted and they assure me its flying now. As i did a lot of the cooking this morning
i havent had chance to speak to any other teams.
Weather is cool dry and overcast after a mighty thunderstorm over night.
qualifying results to follow…
